| Exhibit Opens Sunday, December 11 at 2:00pm The Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art presents the exhibit of children’s art titled “Literature/ART,” inspired by Ukrainian Literature it is a collection of some 200 works of art from Lviv, Kyiv, Poltava, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Cherkasy. These are works of children from grades 5 thru 11. The medium which they used is varied - from watercolors to pencil and ink to bold acrylics. The themes from which they based their works could be prose, poetry of music. The goal of the exhibit was to foster the passion of reading and then transform what they read into a piece of art. Their source was Ukrainian literature specifically, but the result is universal - a depiction of the word into art. |
