DESCRIPTION:The Pretzel Blitz is back! \nWe are hosting 5 pretzel making classes in April. Why? We LOVE pretzels! These pretzel-making classes will be offered in-person. We will host up to 20 students in our industrial kitchen at the DANK Haus. These 20 students will get hands on training from Reinhard Richter\, our resident Pretzel Meister\, and take home their homemade pretzels at the end of the class. \nWe have 5 classes to choose from. The April 29th class will be taught entirely in German (auf Deutsch)! All students will get the recipe and be able to communicate directly with our chef. \nWhat to expect? Students will receive one free beverage of choice and will take home freshly baked pretzels. Class time estimated 2 hours.

DESCRIPTION:An immersive fund raiser concert featuring music\, visual arts\, perfumery\, and gastronomy to help Ukraine in its time of need.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\nIn The Realm Of Senses presents its fully immersive duo version of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition for two players and seven instruments with works by Ukrainian born composers Skoryk\, Yashchenko\, Bortkiewicz and Prokofiev\, presented by Chinese-American\, Russian-American and Belarusian-Americans who support Ukraine’s fight for freedom and peace. This concert will feature visual projections paired to music by many Chicago-based international artists as well as two perfume pairings to music by Christophe Laudamiel\, and dessert pairings by local chefs. We will perform various works by Ukrainian-born composers including first movement of Prokofiev’s violin sonata No.1 and end with the “Great Gate of Kiev” movement from Pictures\, paired to a unique perfume. Music and art transcends all and will bring people of all backgrounds together to support Ukraine in its great time of need. \nOur co-sponsors are Epiphany Center for the Arts and Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art\, who will be donating the venue for this event and helping us bring the word to the Ukrainian and Chicago communities at large. All proceeds will go towards vetted charities to directly support Ukraine. Baker in Chief with Zimt Bakery\, Alina Tompert\, will show us how to decorate cookies like a pro! A fun and interactive activity for you and your Valentine or Galentines alike! \nYou will be baking and decorating Zimt’s mouth watering namesake Cinnamon cookies with a rainbow of glazes\, naturally colored with superfood powders. Alina will be demonstrating a variety of decoration techniques for you to try\, including flooding\, lettering\, marbling\, and feathering. (You’ll decorate and speak like a pro after this class!) For extra sparkle and pizzaz\, bring your own cookie cutters and sprinkles to add a personal touch to your creations.
