The April 29th class will be taught entirely in German (auf Deutsch)! All students will get the recipe and be able to communicate directly with our chef.

DESCRIPTION:An immersive fund raiser concert featuring music\, visual arts\, perfumery\, and gastronomy to help Ukraine in its time of need.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\nIn The Realm Of Senses presents its fully immersive duo version of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition for two players and seven instruments with works by Ukrainian born composers Skoryk\, Yashchenko\, Bortkiewicz and Prokofiev\, presented by Chinese-American\, Russian-American and Belarusian-Americans who support Ukraine’s fight for freedom and peace. This concert will feature visual projections paired to music by many Chicago-based international artists as well as two perfume pairings to music by Christophe Laudamiel\, and dessert pairings by local chefs. We will perform various works by Ukrainian-born composers including first movement of Prokofiev’s violin sonata No.1 and end with the “Great Gate of Kiev” movement from Pictures\, paired to a unique perfume. Music and art transcends all and will bring people of all backgrounds together to support Ukraine in its great time of need. \nOur co-sponsors are Epiphany Center for the Arts and Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art\, who will be donating the venue for this event and helping us bring the word to the Ukrainian and Chicago communities at large. All proceeds will go towards vetted charities to directly support Ukraine. Thanks for ITROS\, Epiphany\, and UIMA for the opportunity to create beauty\, music\, and art to do a greater good for people in need in this trying time of war. \nConcert begins at 8pm\, doors at Epiphany Art Center will be open from 5-8pm for their fabulous Golden Hour and food\, cocktails\, and music before the show. DESCRIPTION:Soprano Tessan-Maria Lehmussari has been named this year’s Jenny Lind Scholar of the Royal Swedish Musical Academy and Folkets Hus & Parker in Sweden. With this\, this large scholarship is re-launched in a new collaboration during the celebration of Jenny Lind’s 200th anniversary in 2020. \n”I feel extremely honored and touched to have been selected for this year’s Jenny Lind Scholar. Singing has been my passion since childhood\, and now being given an opportunity to share it with others\, thanks to this award\, makes me extremely grateful. Classical music has so much to give and it will be fantastic fun to show what my heart is beating for”\, says Tessan-Maria Lehmussari. \nTessan-Maria has worked with Drottningholm’s Baroque Orchestra\, Young Opera (Royal Swedish Opera) and Norrköping Symphony Orchestra\, among others. \nDinner starts at 6 p.m. and tickets can be bought through the Swedish American Museum website link below or at the Museum. The concert is free. Attendees should plan to arrive at 6.30 p.m. for the concert. \n_______________ \nThe jury’s motivation for the 2020 Scholarship:\n“This year the scholarship goes to Tessan-Maria Lehmussari\, who possesses a rare ability to capture her audience. From 2020\, when the entire opera world celebrates Jenny Lind’s 200th anniversary\, the Folkets Hus & Parker’s tour activities and the Royal Swedish Musical Academy’s scholarship work in tandem and highlight this year’s scholarship a little extra.
