Since we commenced\, the National Ceiba Award has been presented in person to Gilberto Santa Rosa\, Lin Manuel Miranda\, Antonio Martorell\, Rita Moreno\, Andy Montañez\, Jon Seda\, David Begnaud\, Quira Alegria Hudes\, Jimmy Smits\, Esmeralda Santiago\, Jose Feliciano\, Lucecita Benitez\, Luis and Luz Miranda\, El Museo de Arte de Ponce\, among others important figures. \nThe National Ceiba Award recognizes those who are deeply committed to preserving and promoting the Puerto Rican arts\, culture\, and traditions at the National and International level. \nFor the 10th Anniversary Raices Gala\, we’ll spend the evening together celebrating our great Puerto Rican culture by immersing all your senses in the food\, sounds\, rhythm\, and exciting performances (along with a few surprises!) at Galleria Marchetti. \nWith a commitment to increase exposure\, this past year\, we have brought the Puerto Rican Symphony Orchestra for a first-ever performance in Chicago at Symphony Center; we opened “Nostalgia for my Island: Puerto Rican Painting from the Museo de Arte de Ponce (1786-1962)\,” a historical exhibit featuring Puerto Rican art rarely displayed in the United States; and we launched our first membership program. \nPlease join us for this special evening celebrating the 10th Anniversary Raices Gala!
