He began playing the guitar in the Sevillian village of Morón de la Frontera\, where Diego del Gastor established a strong guitar tradition. SUMMARY:Chicago Flamenco Festival 2026. Irene Morales Raw
DESCRIPTION:RAW is a daring flamenco performance featuring dancer Irene Morales\, whose movement brings ancestral intensity into sharp dialogue with the present. Rooted in Granada and shaped by Spain’s foremost stages\, Morales embodies a dance language that unites precision and instinct\, control and vulnerability. The work seeks a state of essentiality—a flamenco pared down to its core\, where gesture\, sound\, and silence uncover emotional truth. Through the interplay of electronic textures\, live instruments\, and visceral rhythm\, RAW opens new terrain for flamenco while remaining grounded in its pulse. Morales’s presence gives form to a living tradition—immediate\, luminous\, and profoundly human—where flamenco is not fixed in time but continually rediscovered through the body. \n  \nIrene Morales began her formal training at the Conservatory of Granada before moving to Madrid to continue her studies at the prestigious María de Ávila Superior Conservatory. During her time in the capital\, she combined her studies with performances in several companies\, including those of Miguel Ángel Bernal and Rafael Aguilar\, and most notably in 2019\, when Eva Yerbabuena invited her to join the production Lorca y la Pasión with Marina Heredia\, presented at the Generalife Gardens. This marked her return to her hometown of Granada. With remarkable artistic maturity\, Irene has been performing since the age of 18\, both as a solo artist and with her own company. \nPhoto Copywrite: Juan Pascual

SUMMARY:Meet the Beatles in Hamburg | In-Person Presentation
DESCRIPTION:Join us in reliving the “Hamburg Days” of three working class lads from Liverpool\, who spent many a “hard days night” in seedy night clubs all along the notorious Reeperbahn between 1960 and 1962\, playing American rock ‘n roll to some of the toughest crowds in all of Europe. \nJohn Lennon once remarked\, “I may have been raised in Liverpool\, but I grew up in Hamburg.” Sentiments also attested by bandmates Paul and George. \nAn experience which made them as a band before returning to England and a recording contract. In time\, setting off a global revolution not only in music and fashion but in raising a “peace and love” consciousness the world over. \nIt was the Beatles who would significantly influence the decade known as the “Sixties”\, and it all began in Hamburg–where they also met another Liverpudlian named Ringo!

SUMMARY:3rd Fridays Free Admission Museum Night
DESCRIPTION:Free Admission Museum Nights take place every third Friday of each month from 5 pm to 8 pm! The tour will start at 6 PM on time. All tours depart from the reception desk\, and please be sure to arrive on time. The event offers wine and appetizers. \nThis Friday at 7-7:40 PM\, our Resident Artist 2024 – Irene Hsiao will perform at the Heritage Museum of Asian Art as part of the project If The Sky Could Dream.  \nAbout the Tour –  \nLearn about Asian Art in the Heritage Museum of Asian Art with a guided hour-long tour around the gallery. Museum-trained interns and volunteers will give a talk on selected artworks. Each word is packed with fascinating insights\, information\, and stories. During this participatory experience\, you’ll connect with works from across the collection and get a close look at highlighting artworks. Visitors of all ages are welcome. \nPlease note tours may be canceled or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. \nAbout the project –  \nIF THE SKY COULD DREAM focuses on the Chinese dragon as a powerful being that fosters harmony. This creature is emblematic of China as well as a mythological being for many Asian and Western cultures and thus evokes a sense of mysticism\, and intrigue in many communities. Representing the Chinese Dragon as a water deity\, the installation series will feature images and projections of the weather and local bodies of water in Chicago. \nIf The Sky Could Dream is supported\, in part\, by a Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant \nAbout Irene Hsiao \nIrene Hsiao creates performances in conversation with visual art in museums\, galleries\, and public spaces\, a practice that includes site-specific interaction with visual artworks and experimental engagement with artists\, institutions\, and the public. Find out more through our website. \nAccessibility \nThe Heritage Museum of Asian Art’s Entrance is on West 35th Street. Take the elevator to the third floor and turn right to the Museum Reception Desk. Accessible and standard toilets are located on the same floor. Free parking space is available next to the museum via West 35th Street. \nIf you have any programming questions\, don’t hesitate to get in touch with info@heritageasianart.org or 312-842-8884.

SUMMARY:The exhibition “The Dear Road”
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition “The Dear Road” explores the symbolic meaning of roads as metaphors for life’s journey — from childhood to adulthood\, through joy\, struggle\, love\, and discovery. Among all life’s paths\, the road home stands as the most sacred\, representing warmth\, belonging\, and love. Today\, for Ukrainians\, this symbolism takes on a deeper resonance as they fight for the ultimate road — the path to peace\, freedom\, and the preservation of their homeland. The exhibition invites viewers to reflect on their own life journeys\, the roads that have shaped them\, and the ones that lead them home.\nThe exhibition will be presented by Krystyna Berehovska\, director of the ZENYK ART GALLERY ( Lviv\, Ukraine ) and curator of this exhibit.\n\nDate: February 6\, Friday at 7:00 pmLocation: UNM\, 2249 W Superior St\, Chicago\, IL 60612
