Comprising four of the most accomplished Irish musicians\, brothers Darragh and Mícheál Healy\, along with Joseph McNulty and Cillian King\, they have amassed more than 20 Irish Championship titles on various instruments in traditional Irish music and singing\, along with 4 World bodhrán titles. \nDescribed by the Irish Echo as “complete naturals on stage\,” their live shows exude a feel-good factor that persuades the inner dancer and vocalist in every audience member. DESCRIPTION:Free Admission Museum Nights take place every third Friday of each month from 5 pm to 8 pm! The tour will start at 6 PM on time. All tours depart from the reception desk\, and please be sure to arrive on time. The event offers wine and appetizers. \nThis Friday at 7-7:40 PM\, our Resident Artist 2024 – Irene Hsiao will perform at the Heritage Museum of Asian Art as part of the project If The Sky Could Dream.  \nAbout the Tour –  \nLearn about Asian Art in the Heritage Museum of Asian Art with a guided hour-long tour around the gallery. Museum-trained interns and volunteers will give a talk on selected artworks. Each word is packed with fascinating insights\, information\, and stories. During this participatory experience\, you’ll connect with works from across the collection and get a close look at highlighting artworks. Visitors of all ages are welcome. \nPlease note tours may be canceled or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. \nAbout the project –  \nIF THE SKY COULD DREAM focuses on the Chinese dragon as a powerful being that fosters harmony. This creature is emblematic of China as well as a mythological being for many Asian and Western cultures and thus evokes a sense of mysticism\, and intrigue in many communities. Representing the Chinese Dragon as a water deity\, the installation series will feature images and projections of the weather and local bodies of water in Chicago. \nIf The Sky Could Dream is supported\, in part\, by a Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant \nAbout Irene Hsiao \nIrene Hsiao creates performances in conversation with visual art in museums\, galleries\, and public spaces\, a practice that includes site-specific interaction with visual artworks and experimental engagement with artists\, institutions\, and the public. Co-produced by a close friend and kindred musical spirit\, Ruston Kelly\, and beloved Nashville engineer and producer Gena Johnson\, the album is rich and dynamic\, from cathartic jams to nostalgic storytelling. The son of late songwriting legend John Prine\, Tommy Prine grew up in Nashville surrounded by music\, art\, and writing. As a child\, he thought all parents were musicians because\, to his father\, “going to work” meant performing shows for adoring fans and writing songs. Tommy learned to play guitar by watching his father play\, copying how his fingers moved\, and inadvertently developing his own style. Summers in Ireland lent their own inspiration\, as did 10 straight years camping at Bonnaroo. In 2023\, Amazon Music named him one of their Breakthrough Artists to Watch\, and in December\, he made his Grand Ole Opry debut in December. \nThis is a free show. The Pub opens at 6PM\, and Tommy plays\, starting at 9PM

DESCRIPTION:Join us for Girls Build! Day in the CAC’s Skyscraper Gallery. Check in anytime during the event for Hands-on activities running from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. with a keynote speech and Q&A immediately following. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGirls Build! Day—one of the CAC’s signature family offerings—is a special STEAM festival designed just for girls. During the festival\, youth are invited to build\, learn and network with professionals in architecture\, construction\, engineering\, design and related fields. The day includes hands-on activities\, walking tours and a keynote speech\, where attendees hear from (and ask questions of) a distinguished female STEAM professional: 2024 AIA President Kimberly Dowdell.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nActivities are geared toward ages 11-17\, with an emphasis on engaging youth who identify as female and other marginalized genders. All youth participants must be accompanied by an adult; chaperoned organized groups of youth are welcome.
