Learn to paint in watercolor with artist and teacher Kathleen Kelly in a six-week class designed for all levels at the Irish American Heritage Center. Students will learn watercolor painting techniques, allowing a deeper understanding of the medium. Chicago Office of the City Clerk – CityKey ID Presentation

In springtime 2018, Chicago’s Office of the City Clerk is launching the Chicago CityKey, a new optional, official government-issued ID card established to bring Chicago together as one community. The ID card, which will be linked to benefits and passes for recreation and entertainment, sports games, cultural institutions and museums, and goods at partnering museums, can also be used as a Ventra and Chicago Public Library card and will be accepted by all City departments. It will also partner with banks, financial services, and health services to enable inclusion and access for all holders. W

The Irish American Heritage Center continues its annual Friday Night Fish Fry this February and March 2018.The Fish Fry runs during Lent from February 16-March 30 from 6:30pm-9pm in the Fifth Province Pub and the menu features fried cod, French fries, a vegetable and coleslaw.Families can enjoy a meal together and kids can watch children’s movies that run during the meal. Live music begins at 8pm and selected nights will feature dance performances from Trinity Irish Dancers, the Academy of Irish Music and the Shepherd School of Irish Music. The cost is $14 for adults and $9 for children and

Always wanted to learn how to dance or take your dancing to the next level? If you can walk, you can learn to dance! Emphasis is on basic dance techniques one step at the time. Beginners will learn to recognize music, connect with your partner, lead and follow. For those with advanced dance abilities, classes build a strong foundation to develop additional dance skills and improve technique. Attendance at each class is not required but highly recommended.
