The Alliance Community Collections is a shared digital archive that features Core Members’ museum collections and virtual exhibits that are unlikely to be seen in person. Alliance Community Collections endeavors to share the hidden stories of Chicago’s neighborhoods and the people who lived in this great city. In the past two years, staff and volunteers have digitized more than 2,000 objects for this project and are adding to the website year-round. You can join in too! Share with us your story and objects from the comfort of your own home. Help us to broaden the knowledge of Chicago’s communities and Chicago’s history with your experience. Share with us here!
Current participating Core Members whose selected collections are searchable on the archives include: Balzekas Museum of Lithuanian Culture, Chinese-American Museum of Chicago, DANK Haus German American Cultural Center, Dominican American Midwest Association, Ethiopian Community Association of Chicago, Japanese American Service Committee, Swedish American Museum, and the Ukrainian National Museum.
