Borders Cruzadas: A Collaborative Exploration of Migration

July 31 @ 9:00 am - September 19 @ 5:00 pm

Free
Borders Cruzadas: A Collaborative Exploration of Migration is a long-term visual narrative project by photojournalists and 2023-2024 Dammeyer Fellows Oscar B. Castillo and Wil Sands. The 2023-2024 Dammeyer exhibition featuring Borders Cruzadas is a culmination of work that compiles documentary photography, research, and conversations to present both the physical and the symbolic boundaries that form America’s borders.
Borders Cruzadas leverages the universal power of photography and storytelling to foster a more inclusive and empathetic public discourse on immigration. By engaging and amplifying the experiences of those directly affected, Borders Cruzadas aspires to create a tool for understanding and, ultimately, impact local policy decisions surrounding immigration.
This exhibition is at Glass Curtain Gallery (1104 S Wabash) and is presented in partnership with ART WORKS Projects, Columbia College Chicago, Department of The Department of Exhibitions, and Pueblo Unido Gallery. Open to the public during gallery hours, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm trough August 9.
