Leadership During Turbulent Times: Keeping the PLACE in Placemaking

This year’s conference focuses on three different tracks that focus on strategies for leading during turbulent times and activating heritage to lead community in forms of preservation and renewal.

- Leadership During Turbulent Times – Leading a cultural organization under political, economic or community upheaval is difficult. With this learning track, learn the strategies to create healthy areas of responsibility within your organization for stronger leadership, how to capitalize on the power of moments, and share with each other successes and challenges of leading during turbulent times.

- The Power of Collective Impact – Having many involved in a project can seem overwhelming, but the impact of group think can be extremely powerful – in spreading the word, building audience or creating social change. In this track, learn about strategies to build coalitions and co-create together, to create something of powerful impact.

- Culture as a Revenue Stream- With every new year comes new challenges to making your organization’s revenue goals, and diversification of revenue has become all the more necessary. In this track, learn strategies to build relationship with Chicago funders, use cultural activities and product as earned income generators, and participate in an entrepreneurial lab to test new ideas.

Resource Fair, Networking & Knowledge-Sharing 

Activating Heritage will include a resource fair of regional and national organizations that help build organizational capacity. Throughout the day, there will be opportunities to network and within workshops share experience and knowledge with fellow participants.

Registration for Activating Heritage opens September 18th. Through the support of our funders, conference registration is at a discounted rate for all attendees:

$20 – CCA Core Member organization attendees
$50 for CCA Partner Member organization attendees

$75 for Non-member organization attendees
