June 12 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 6:00 pm, repeating until June 14, 2019

After the resounding success of our 2015 and 2017 Mask and Puppet-Making Workshops supported by The Trust for Public Land, The Chicago Fund for Safe and Peaceful Communities and the MacArthur International Connections Program, Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center (SRBCC) brings back one of its most popular programs to date.

SRBCC will partner again with the Chicago Fund for Safe and Peaceful Communities and Pedro Adorno’s Agua Sol y Sereno Theater Company from Puerto Rico. As part of a community effort to secure the future of the Puerto Rican Festival, SRBCC joins forces with the new Puerto Rican Festival Committe (Fiestas Patronales Daniel Ramos) to offer a series of free mask-making workshops for all ages, leading up to two musical processions in Humboldt Park (6/15 at PR Festival) and Haas Park (6/18 at Night Out in the Parks).

In-depth 3-hour specialized workshops at SRBCC. Walk-in kids activities and simple construction workshops available at the Puerto Rican Festival on Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16.

Limited spaces available. All materials included.

Participants must committ to a minimum of two workshops and one “comparsa” (musical procession). Registration is required.
