Join the Japanese American Service Committee for Tampopo-Kai. This unique program has the goal of exposing children to the richness and wonder of the Japanese language and culture through songs, stories, games, arts and crafts, and other activities. The program is geared towards toddlers and preschoolers with three sessions that last approximately 12 weeks each, and a summer session of approximately four weeks.

Wednesday class introduces Hiragana, or beginning Japanese writing, and has a more formal classroom structure. The weekly routine includes traditional Japanese games and play, story time, Hiragana study, and arts and crafts.  The class best suits children who show an interest in writing and are at least 3 years old.

Classes have started, but you can register your child anytime. Email Naomi at tampopo@jasc-chicago.org for more information.
