Join the Japanese American Service Committee for Tampopo-Kai. This unique program has the goal of exposing children to the richness and wonder of the Japanese language and culture through songs, stories, games, arts and crafts, and other activities. The program is geared towards toddlers and preschoolers with three sessions that last approximately 12 weeks each, and a summer session of approximately four weeks.

Monday class is for children under 5 years of age. Through physical activities, children will learn about the Japanese culture, annual cultural events and holidays, and Japanese words. Colors, numbers, shapes, sizes, family members, greetings, seasons, weather, and body parts are introduced in the class as part of their exposure to Japanese vocabulary. Activities include songs, plays, games, exercises, stories, and arts and crafts.

Classes have started, but you can register your child anytime. Email Naomi at tampopo@jasc-chicago.org for more information.
