SUMMARY:Somos Un Solo Pueblo\, Mexico y Puerto Rico
DESCRIPTION:Somos un Solo Pueblo\, Mexico y Puerto Rico\, part of the Millennium Park Residency Program\, will be a one-of-a-kind historical event aimed at uniting the Mexican and Puerto Rican communities in a symphonic concert setting.   To anchor the main event\, The Chicago Philharmonic Society will serve as the official orchestra that will be accompanied by international musicians from Puerto Rico and Mexico.  Musicians from Cuerdas Clásicas and those affiliated with PRAA will open the main performance culminating with a full performance of all musicians. Leading up to this concert\, the Somos un Solo Pueblo\, Mexico y Puerto Rico project will include a series of advance music presentations (3) at Millennium Park featuring local Chicago based music groups.  Each invited local musical group will conduct a presentation during the months of May and July of 2023\, in preparation for and leading up to the August 26\, 2023\, performance. Local performing groups include Afri Caribe\, Sones de Mexico\, Cuerdas Clásicas\, and PRAA’s Latin Music Project Ensemble.
