44th Gwangju People’s Uprising Commemoration

Please join us at HANA’s Northwest Center on Saturday, May 18th from 6 – 7pm to honor the Gwangju People’s Uprising. This is also our May Membership Meeting which is a great chance to learn about the history of people’s resistance and connect with fellow intergenerational HANA members!

The Gwangju People’s Uprising, also known as the May 18 Gwangju Democratization Movement of 1980, was in response to Chun Doo-Hwan’s military dictatorship which was backed by the U.S. military.
