The Baker will be the main person responsible for all products sold in the Museum Café. The  position involves mixing, scaling, shaping, and baking Swedish and other baked rolls, cakes, and  cookies.

BILINGUAL SPANISH HOUSING PROGRAM COORDINATOR (FULL-TIME)

HANA Center

Salary Range: $40,000 – $45,000

HANA Center is a Chicago-area community-based organization working to meet the critical needs of Korean, Asian American, and multiethnic immigrant communities and build power toward systemic change. HANA Center has offices in Chicago and Prospect Heights, Illinois.

HANA’s Housing Assistance Services are part of its community capacity building programs. Through these services HANA provides outreach, intake, and application assistance for rental and mortgage payment programs to support community members experiencing financial hardship. HANA also provides housing counseling to low income community members and is certified by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The Housing Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting HANA’s housing services program in coordination with HANA’s HUD-Certified housing counselors. This program provides critical support to community members who are seeking housing assistance, education, and individual counseling services. Dance interns

Kalapriya Center for Indian Performing Arts 

Kalapriya Center for Indian Performing Arts is seeking dance interns for 2024. The dance interns will learn the repertoire of Kalapriya Center for Indian Performing Arts from the Artistic Director, and will have opportunities to perform in new productions and showcases throughout the city. Interns will learn diverse Indian dance forms ranging from folk, Bollywood, and Indian classical dance. Interns are compensated $15 per hour for all rehearsals and $50 for each performance. The internship commitment is from April to November 2023 and rehearsals are generally held two evenings per week at our studios.

Program Assistant (Part-time)

National Indo-American Museum

The program assistant interacts with community members and coordinates the logistics for existing programs at Chicago schools. They will assist the Board of Directors to deliver content, onsite set-up and take down, as well as registration, payments and reports at the conclusion of each program.

The Ukrainian National Museum of Chicago has an opening for a tour guide to work Thursdays from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Museum Tour Guide serves as an ambassador for the museum. This individual must be fluent in English and Ukrainian and know Ukrainian history, culture, and the Ukrainian National Museum and Ukrainian Village history. Additional training can be provided.

The Newberry

The Newberry collection—some 1.6 million books, 600,000 maps, and 5 million manuscript pages—is a portal to more than six centuries of human history, from the Middle Ages to the present. Volunteer Roles & Descriptions

Registration (3-4 volunteers):

As a registration volunteer, you will likely be the attendees’ first point of contact at the event. Your job will be to greet attendees as they approach your table, give them their name badge and any other materials, and provide directions or answers to questions as needed.

Greeter/Usher (2-3 volunteers):

Greeters will be positioned near the parking lot, at the doors, near elevators and stairs, along hallways, and in other places where attendees may need directional help. The event will be taking place in multiple areas of the museum, so it will be important to have CCA representatives spread out to ease navigation. As a greeter, you will need to be familiar with the program and locations so that you can answer questions and provide directions as necessary.

Activation Tables Guide (2- 3 volunteers):

The volunteers will help our guests with setting up the Activation Tables and welcome people to the tables. As a volunteer, you will need to be familiar with the table’s locations so that you can provide directions as necessary.

Silent Auction (2-3 volunteer):

The volunteers will help the guests in the main hall with the silent auction process. They will be required to assist people who need help with the auction. As a silent auction volunteer, you will need to be familiar with the app and the processes to set up a payments portal so that you can answer questions and provide directions as necessary.

Direction from Parking lot Guide (2-3 volunteers):

The volunteers will be responsible for guiding the guests from the parking lot to the main hall. To be a good fit for this role, the volunteer coordinator must be assertive and able to take initiative.

We will need the help of dozens of enthusiastic volunteers to make this event a success, and we are thrilled that have you.   • Saturday, May 18 (Reception Day) – We just need two volunteers to do a variety of tasks throughout the reception from 5pm to 8pm at the American Writers Museum
  • Sunday, May 19 (The Festival) – We will need numerous volunteers to fill a variety of roles (ushers, way-finders, check-in attendants, etc.) throughout the event, in shifts. We will also need several volunteers to assist with setup, in the hours before the doors open to the public.
  • Monday, May 20 (Load-Out Day) – We will be returning to the library the day after the event for load-out from 8am to 4pm, and we will be looking for teardown volunteers to help, in shifts.
