Vom Rhein Jailhaus Rock ft. Windy City Elvis

Vom Rhein Jailhaus Rock ft. Windy City Elvis

Join us for our August Open Haus, Jailhaus Rock am Rhein, featuring acclaimed Elvis impersonator Windy City Elvis (Michael St. Angel). We’re turning up the dial on nostalgia and honoring the King’s ties to Germany, where he spent time living in Friedberg during his service in the U.S. Army.

Shake, rattle, and roll the night away with live music, vintage vibes, and panoramic views of the Chicago skyline from our 6th floor lounge.

Think you know the King? Test your knowledge in our Elvis trivia challenge — the winner will receive drink vouchers and bragging rights.

Drinks and food will be available for purchase.

Suggested donation: $10

Online RSVP is appreciated to help us plan, but walk-ins are always welcome.

Free parking is available after 6:00 PM in the 5/3 Bank lot at Western and Gunnison.

World Peace Through Humor: A German 101

World Peace Through Humor: A German 101

Need a good laugh in crazy times? Well lucky you: Paco Erhard brings you comedy that makes you feel sane again. Since 2016, Paco has made us laugh hard many times with his famous 5-Step Guide to Being German. Now, we are delighted to announce that Paco is returning to the DANK Haus with a sparkling new show that has already been called “chaotically funny” and “stand-up genius” by reviewers in the US and worldwide.

In his new show, Paco finally turns his Teutonic wit on his cherished new home: America. Traveling all over the US since 2022, he has gathered hilariously mischievous jokes, tongue-in-cheek opinions, and “only in America” observations through a German lens that will make you roll on the floor laughing.

Mix this with unheard-of stories and life lessons from his travels around the world and Paco’s trademark message of “we can all learn from each other”, and you get an evening to laugh away the madness, be inspired, and feel good again.

P.S. If you love German Karneval, this is the perfect show for you – it’s like one big Büttenrede, the traditional German Karneval comedy performance lampooning life, people, politics, and all the things that have happened throughout the year. So… come live it up and laugh it up with this Büttenrede. Helau! Alaaf! Und Prost!

P.P.S. Don’t worry – “a German comedian” is actually not one of the signs of the apocalypse. We checked. Phew!
